In a statement issued by Rep. Collins, he said, "I am very pleased with the cooperation between Marta, Atlanta Gas Light, Checker Cab and the companies currently operating compressed natural fleets. I enjoyed learning about the success of these vehicles in Georgia. When I return to Washington, I will consider legislation to offer tax incentives for those who take advantage of natural gas as an alternative fuel option. Rep. Collins is already a strong advocate of electric vehicles and has introduced a bill to extend and enhance the tax credit for electric vehicles.
